The 4-Step Routine That Actually Fits Your Morning

Hands applying a cream

The most common reason a skincare routine fails is not the products. It is the length. A ten-step routine looks wonderful in a video and quietly collapses by the third Wednesday, because nobody has eleven spare minutes before a commute.

So here is the version we actually recommend. Four steps in the morning, three at night, roughly ninety seconds either way.

Morning

1. Cleanse — 30 seconds

Overnight your skin produces sebum and sheds cells. A gentle gel cleanser clears that without stripping. If your skin feels tight after washing, your cleanser is too harsh — that tight feeling is a damaged barrier, not cleanliness.

2. Hydrate — 15 seconds

Apply moisturiser to slightly damp skin. This matters more than people expect: hyaluronic acid is a humectant, which means it binds water. If there is no water on the surface to bind, it will pull moisture from deeper in your skin instead, which is the opposite of the point.

3. Protect — 20 seconds

Two finger-lengths of SPF 50+ across face and neck. This is the single highest-return step in the entire routine. Every study on visible ageing points the same direction: daily sunscreen outperforms almost anything else you can buy.

4. Leave it alone

The fourth step is restraint. No touching, no picking, no checking. Skin heals when left undisturbed.

Night

Cleanse, moisturise, and add a treatment — in our range, the Night Cream with niacinamide and alpha arbutin. Night is when cell turnover peaks and the barrier is more permeable, which makes it the right window for actives.

The rule that matters most

Consistency beats intensity. A basic routine you follow every day will outperform an elaborate one you follow twice a week, every single time. Pick something you can do while half asleep.

Give it twelve weeks

Hydration improves within days. Texture takes about four weeks. Pigmentation needs eight to twelve, because that is simply how long the pigment cycle runs. Judging a product at two weeks tells you almost nothing.
